I WANT ONE OF THESE!!!!

Saddle Breakthrough: Fizik Arione.

Now all I have to do is find out who sells 'em around here. I could probably find one on eBay but if for some unfathomable reason I don't like it, I wouldn't be able to return it and would have to figure out how to sell it.

OTOH, I got a wetsuit on eBay for as much as this saddle will set me back, knowing the wetsuit wouldn't fit till I lost weight, and that it will be probably be early summer before I can wear it.

So maybe I'll look on eBay. Or maybe I'll look in Mesa....

Yesterday I took off my Bontrager Whatever saddle and put on the Terry Liberator I'd used while tri-training. It made me sore in the same places I was sore all summer. The Bontrager made me sore in other places. I've had it with saddle-soreness. It's one thing to be walking funny from a marathon which will go away in a day or so. But a bike saddle goes on and on.

Hi Ellie, make sure you get the Triathlon version (http://www.fizik.com/catalog.aspx?subid=arione_TRI_darkgrey_glossy_silver) it comes with more padding in the nose area where we spend a lot of time while on aero bars! It costs a bit more, but I think the extra padding is well worth it, especially if you ride in aero position.

Hmmmm. I didn't know about the tri version. Actually I got the one Flatman told me about on eBay. OTOH, padding is one of the things that bugs me in a saddle. It seems to put more bulk and pressure where I don't need it. Here's hoping it goes OK!!

:) You shld be alrite, I have heard that is a very comfy saddle. You really only need the extra padding in front if you assume a traditional ass forward TT/Tri position.

Aaaaaggghhhh. I needed to spend more time in the blogosphere before going to AZ, my brain missed that part about you being there. But it's locked and loaded on meeting up in Florida. Looks like you had a great time and a great race-way to go! I went with a gel seat because I was tired of all those bottom issues that seats present. It's been a little slice of heaven.
