Something I've been pondering since we started seeing roadrunners:

What were roadrunners called before there were roads?

I was walking Journey today, and she kept stopping to sniff where every other dog had peed, and then she'd contribute her own input to the spot. A man passing by observed, "They have to check their email frequently."

Hmmm. Pretty deep thought so early in the morning :)

I always think it's like my dogs reading the newspaper. They sniff and sniff to learn what happened yesterday or last night. And, you can always tell when someone new has showed up cuz they sniff it forever...

LOL. My dad calls it pee-mail but it's the same thing. It's like a doggy blog. :)

Before there is road? Just runners :)..now u see why we need to invent road. So we can give them a cool name like roadrunners.

Hey, love the dog picture.

Also liked the "email" cartoon. Does that mean I act like a dog because I check mine too much? lol

I'm a new blogger and just trying to get the swing of things by looking at others' blogs.

Hope you don't mind

Roadrunner facts I found today:

The Roadrunner is also called the "Chaparral Cock".

Roadrunners are ground cuckoos.

The Roadrunner reabsorbs water from its feces before excretion.

It cannot keep its body airborne for more than a few seconds, and so prefers walking or running (up to 17 miles per hour) usually with a clownish gait.

The Roadrunner is one of the few animals that preys upon rattlesnakes. Using its wings like a matador's cape, it snaps up a coiled rattlesnake by the tail, cracks it like a whip and repeatedly slams its head against the ground till dead.

[Yay! I LIKE these guys!!!] *jeanne*
