PICTURES OF SARAH, one day old

My husband Steve was hooting like an owl. Sarah was trying to figure out what this new grown-up trick was.

Sarah with her mommy -- our daughter-in-law Jamie.

And with Daddy, our son Jon.

Same here. My favourite is also the last one of the hands. Beautifully framed.

The "hands" one is my favourite. You should enter that in a contest somewhere.

On Steve hooting and Sarah frowning: Babies are little aliens. They come to us through us, but really, they're SO new to this world. They just got this little mushy body and have to figure out how to make it work, and people here all talk so funny, and how the heck do I tell them my tummy feels weird...

It's been a while since I've visited your blog. Wow, looks like a lot has happened (no surprise). Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter. My youngest sister had a baby this week too. They truly are a joyous occasion for a family, aren't they?!

Looking forward to hearing more about your upcoming plans to hike the AT in '09.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Love the photos, esp. the one with the hands and the ones with you holding her. I've got a couple years still before I become a grandma but am already looking forward to it!

She is BEAUTIFUL! I love the face she has with Steve. Looks like she has quite a bit of hair too! The hands photo is one to cherish.
